On Friday 7th June 2019 our #Walk50 walking challenge will see people coming from all over the country to take part in the overnight walk from dusk til dawn through the streets of London.
Participants range in age from 7 to 76 and you can choose to take part in the Family 12km challenge, or the 25km and 50km challenges which are open to anyone over the age of 16. All our walkers start at St Thomas’ Hospital on the banks of the River Thames, between 7-9pm.

From Westminster Bridge we head west along the banks of the river. With refreshments along the way, the 12km finish line is at Putney. As the sun sets, the 25km and 50km walkers then head on to Hammersmith Bridge before heading back through Central London. The 25km finish line is near Victoria in the early hours of Saturday morning. The 50km walkers then head off into the night. This year's new route will take walkers past many of London's famous landmarks before heading back to Guy’s Cancer Centre beneath The Shard on Saturday morning where there will be coffee, bacon rolls and possibly even a glass of something bubbly to welcome them over the 50km finish line.
The 12km challenge is open to all ages - all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
You must be 16 or over to take part in the 25km and 50km challenges.
This is a fundraising event for Dimbleby Cancer Care to support our work at Guy’s Cancer Centre and the Dimbleby Macmillan Support Centre at Queen Mary’s Sidcup. Since 2015 the event has raised over £250,000
